The foundation was founded in December 2008 with just twelve (12)widows under the Abada Iwuchukwu Foundation. Headed and founded by the philanthropist, business tycoon, and entertainment guru, Abada W. Iwuchukwu. Who was inspired by the fate of some of these women and their inability to carter for themselves due to the death of their spouse and having little or no help to survive.

The foundation went public on social media in 2018 and has amassed a total number of over a hundred widows and numerous school children under free academic scholarships (from primary to tertiary education level).

Being that Onitsha metropolis is the center Head where the foundation kicked off, it has its headquarters situated at the bank of the river Niger. Onitsha in the days of yore was known to be one of the leading cities academically where professionals were produced. But of late, there seems to be a dwindling in the educational prowess of this city. Out-of-school children emanate from a lack of financial support and motivational input to be academically strengthened. It inspire Abada Iwuchukwu to initiate the ‘Onitsha Ebo Itenanị Scholarship Scheme’ on the 6th of January, 2021. This involved the Eighteen villages in Onitsha.
